New Yakuza: Like a Dragon Screenshots Show Photo Mode, Homage to Dragon Quest’s “Puff Puff” & More

Today Sega released a brand new batch of screenshots and information about the upcoming JRPG Yakuza: Like a Dragon, known in Japan as Ryu ga Gotoku 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness.
First of all, we learn about “Nigi Nigi” a mysterious service that is offered by people around town. If you partake, you can get benefits like recovery of HP or MP and boosts to Ichiban’s Human Power.
Keen-eyed fans probably noticed that this is a homage to Dragon Quest’s “Puff Puff.”
Another feature introduced today is Crest Collection (by Crests I mean the Daimon pins that yakuza wear on their jacket’s lapels).
During the battle against the Omi Alliance members of the Tojo Clan lost their crests and they can be found in various places across the map. When you find them, you can bring it to a man dressed as a mascot named “Kamuroppu.” He will exchange it for items you won’t be able to get elsewhere.
Another interesting feature is party banter. When you walk around the city with your friends they will chat, talking about different things depending on who is in the party, the location, the time of the day, and more. This will give you a further look into their personalities.
Lastly, we get to see the photo mode, which you can access via Ichiban’s smartphone. You can add filters, change facial expressions, and even add elements like animal ears and noses. You can check the pictures out at any time via the album on the smartphone.
